This painting is one of the most important for me. This is my first painting entirely painted in tempera… well, almost entirely, since it has a few touches of acrylic gold. It marks, in a way, the end of a first step that I had set myself when I started the 7th Continent series: that of doing without industrial paints as much as possible.
It also heralds the beginning of a new chapter in this series, as it is the first animal I painted that did not belong to a marine species. Indeed, the problem of plastics is not only confined to aquatic environments…
Technique: tempera on wood (with a few touches of gold color on the acrylic…)
